“Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:40 —
Before Nehemiah started rebuilding Jerusalem, he inspected the walls. He wanted to understand the condition of the city before beginning the work.
He did not ignore the damage. He also did not make it worse than it was. He looked at it honestly.
We need the same wisdom.
Sometimes we want God to rebuild our lives without honestly examining what went wrong. But you cannot repair what you refuse to examine.
Ask yourself: What area of my life needs attention? Is it my relationship with God? My marriage? Family? Finances? Health? Career? Emotions? Business? Personal discipline?
Do not immediately blame another person. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you need to change. Admit mistakes where necessary. Identify habits that have weakened you.
Honesty is not the enemy of faith. Faith looks at reality and still believes that God can change it.
Healing begins with honesty, and restoration begins when we are willing to surrender what God reveals.
Insight: You cannot properly rebuild what you have not honestly examined.
Prayer: Father, search my heart and show me every area that needs rebuilding. Give me humility to accept the truth and wisdom to make the necessary changes.
